Are you missing Grandmas pie or Grandpas stuffing at Thanksgiving?

ME TOO!!!

My grandma would make all her own pies at Thanksgiving, bake her own cakes for our birthdays. My Grandma was a baker for the University of Oklahoma. I would have loved to be around in those days.

I could just imagine walking into the cafeteria hungry after class and smelling all the freshly baked pies and cakes.

Everyone shared recipes

A Long time ago before internet and phones everyone got together at work and church and shared these recipes. They would turn them into paperback books and you could buy them and start your own family traditions. These books I have collected over the years are what have inspired me to start this blog and cooking these recipes.

I am going to make these recipes as instructed and make a tiny test one for my daughter and myself.

Then after it is a go.(meaning past my taste test) & most of the time we are going to give it away to someone in my community.
